Jorge Soler makes history by opening the World Series with a home run

Lto 2021 World Series I couldn’t start any other way. Game 1 between the Braves and the Astros had a history start for Jorge Soler, who hit a home run as the first out of Atlanta at the plate.

Soler had no mercy before Framber Valdez and on the third pitch he had he hit a solo home run that overtook Atlanta in the game, but it also meant that the Cuban player left his name in history.

The right fielder became the first player to open the World Series and hit a home run in Major League Baseball history.

In addition, he is the fifth player to reach an HR in the first inning in Game 1 of the World Series and first since 2017. Chris Taylor, (2017 LAD) Alcides Escobar, (2015 KC) Dustin Pedroia, (2007 BOS) Don Buford, (1969 BAL) but only Soler made it in the top of the first inning.
