Jamahl Mosley confirmed as Magic’s new coach

Luka Doncic identified Jamahl Mosley as one of his favorite NBA coaches several weeks ago.. The coach was then Rick Carlisle’s main assistant at the Dallas Mavericks, and one of the candidates to replace him on the bench after his departure to the Indiana Pacers.

Mosley, 42, was just confirmed as head coach of the Orlando Magic for four years.. The coach, with 16 years of experience in the band as an assistant coach, thus faces his first challenge as leader of an NBA bench.

Mosley had spent the past seven years in Dallas, where he hit it off with Doncic, who even introduced him to management as an option to replace Carlisle before Jason Kidd’s arrival on the bench.

“He has the things it takes to be a head coach.”Doncic declared after a Mavs win in New York in April, later repeating his words, stating that Mosley was ready to train at the highest level.

In the end, the Mavericks opted to sign Kidd, and Mosley has since been on various bench rumors. Before his time in Texas, the coach spent four years in Cleveland (2010-2014) and five years in Denver (2005-2010).
