The Real Madrid has announced the signing of the French power forward Guerschon Yabusele, from LDLC ASVEL. The player has signed for only one season, 2021-2022.
Yabusele, 25, is 2.03 meters tall. He played for ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne since February 2020, after going through the NBA, the Boston Celtics (2017-2019) by being drafted in 16th place in 2016, and the Chinese championship, Nanjing Monkey King (2019-2020).
He is currently called up with the French national team, facing Spain in a double friendly with a view to preparing for the Tokyo Olympics.
In 2020-21 he has averaged 14.4 points and 4 rebounds in the French league.
“I can contribute energy in defense and in attack. I want to help the team in any way I can. I want to contribute my game and do it with these teammates. There are very good players here and I am happy to be part of this team. I am generous and I play for the team. I want to score but I also try to do good things so that my teammates feel good on the pitch and help them win, ”he tells the official Real Madrid media.
“I was playing with Heurtel and he told me many things about Madrid, the city and the team. I also spoke with Poirier. It’s not why I’m here but it helped me. It will be fun to share a clue with Tavares. I’ve played against him for two years and he’s a great player, so sharing a team with him is going to be fun and we can do great things together. He is the player who has impressed me the most. It has a great impact on the track. Also Carroll. He is a top player, capable of starting in the third quarter and being the fastest on the track. It is jumping onto the court, starting to get out of the blocks and shooting very well. It is incredible to see a player like that ”.
