Sources consulted by the Associated Press (AP) and by The Athletic indicated that James Harden would have given his OK to USA Basketball, rector of the United States team for the Tokyo Olympics, to join the team, a few hours after it was knew the ‘yes’ of his teammate on the Nets Kevin Durant.
Harden played with a muscle injury in the Eastern conference semifinal that ended up costing New Jersey’s elimination against the Bucks. USA Basketball has yet to make Harden’s call-up official, whose contest would join other players who have already been officially confirmed: Bam Adebayo, Durant, Draymond Green, Bradley Beal, Jayson Tatum, Devin Booker and Damian Lillard.
