The first day of the Roland Garros preview left us with mixed luck among the six Spanish tennis players, as three tennis players go ahead in search of a ticket to the final draw while another three said goodbye to their options to play in the final draw of the Parisian tournament.

One of those who sealed his pass to the second round of the previous one was the Valencian Carlos Taberner, who beat the Slovakian Martin Klizan 6-1 and 6-2 without much trouble in an hour and ten minutes. Taberner was much more solid than his rival and in the second round of the qualifying round he will face Italian Thomas Fabbiano, who defeated American Christian Eubanks (6-4, 7-5).

More trouble happened Bernabé Zapata to seal his ticket to the second previous round. The Valencian tennis player had to come back against the French Kyrian Jacquet to win the game 4-6, 6-1 and 6-4 after almost an hour and 50 minutes of battle. In the second round Zapata will face Kazakh Dmitri Popko, who suffered to beat French Martineau (7-6 (3), 4-6 and 6-4).

Nuria Parrizas also went to the second round of the previous round, who beat the Romanian Laura Ioana Paar in two sets by 6-2 and 6-1 andn one hour and 12 minutes. Parrizas, very successful throughout the game, will have a tough rival in the next phase, the Italian Sara Errani, who beat the American Sachia Vickery (6-3 and 7-5) in two sets.

For his part, Tommy Robredo will not play in the final draw of the Paris tournament after falling to Frenchman Quentin Halys 7-6 (9) and 6-4 after almost two hours of the game. At 39, Robredo stood up to the French tennis player, who won the match thanks to his 46 winning shots.

Nor will it be in the second round of the previous Aliona Bolsava, which started as the second seed of the female team and was seen surprised in two sets by Austrian Julia Grabher 6-2 and 6-3 in one hour and 12 minutes of the game.

The Spanish also fell in her debut Eva Guerrero, who could not with the French Lois Boisson. Despite Boisson’s 6-0 in the first set, Guerrero reacted and won the second set 6-4. However, in the third Boisson was superior and took the set and the match 6-3.
