San Pablo recovered with a tight victory against Unifacisa

In Campina Grande and by group D of the preliminary phase of the South American Basketball League, Saint Paul was imposed by 65-61 in view of unifacisa.

The Tricolor had been defeated on Friday by Deportivo San José (87-92), so they had to win to keep alive their chances of advancing to the next stage of the tournament; only the first two in the area qualify.

Unifacisa, for its part, made its presentation in the contest and was very close to eliminating San Pablo, since, midway through the last quarter, it came to lead the score by 57-56.

However, in the duel of Brazilian teams, the team from São Paulo reacted in time and thanks to a final run of 9-4 they were able to keep the victory. Tyrone Curnell was the star of the game with 24 points, seven rebounds and three assists.

In addition to Curnell’s contribution, it is worth mentioning what Cordero Bennett did, who seconded him with 17 units. On the other hand, André Goes was the most outstanding with 15 points, four assists, three rebounds and three steals.

On Sunday São Paulo will define its classification when it hosts Tigrillos from Colombia at the Ginasio do Morumbi, while Unifacisa will have to beat Deportivo San José to avoid elimination.
