Nuria Párrizas took the most important step of her career this Wednesday and she did it without playing, since her rival in the second round of the Australian Open, the Belgian Maryna Zanevska, resigned due to injury and that automatically qualified the Granada for the third. With this unexpected gift, he also enters the top-50 provisionally.

Párrizas will face an American on Friday, Jessica Pegula (21st favorite), who dropped her compatriot Pera (double 6-4). It will do so with the possibility of preparing thoroughly and with an extra day, along with her coach and partner, former tennis player Carlos Boluda, for a match that, if won, would place her in the round of 16 of a Grand Slam for the first time at age 30.

With nothing to lose and much to gain, Nuria, who beat the Romanian Bara without too many problems, it will be dangerous and will play, possibly, on one of the main courts of Melbourne Park.
