Farah and Cabal debut with victory at Wimbledon

Juan Sebastián Cabal and Robert Farah debuted with victory at Wimbledon. The Colombian doubles players faced in the first round the couple formed by the Taiwanese Lu Yen-hsun and the Dutchman David Pel, staying with the victory in two sets: 6-2 and 6-4 in a game with few complications for the members of the Colsanitas team.

The game on court 15 of the All England Lawn Tennis Club lasted 1 hour and 9 minutes. This is the 16th victory of the Colombians in the Cathedral of Tennis to which they arrived as current champions, after winning the title in 2019 (In 2020 the tournament was canceled by COVID-19). Cabal and Farah calmly beat their rivals. Lu Yen-hsun had already been eliminated in singles, while David Pel will compete in mixed doubles.

This is the third Grand Slam that Colombians have played in the year. At Australian Open they reached the second round, while at Roland Garros they reached the semi-finals. During 2021 they have achieved 25 victories and the titles in the ATP 500 of Dubai and Barcelona.

Juan Sebastián Cabal and Robert Farah now wait in the second round for the winner of the series among the Kazakhs Aleksandr Búblik and Aleksandr Nedovésov and the brazilians Rafael Matos and Thiago Monteiro
