Lto pitcher’s family, Tyler Skaggs, will sue the Angels and two former employees alleging negligence in death of the launcher that was related with drug use in 2019.
The family’s attorneys reported on the lawsuit,adding former team communications director Eric Kay, whoever was said was the one who bought drugs for Skaggs and former boss Tim Mead.
The The reason for the lawsuit is that the team acted negligently in allowing Kay to had access to the players, knowing that he was using drugs and was not properly supervised.
For its part, the Angels defended themselves by asserting that the lawsuits were unsubstantiated and that the team was not at fault in the death of the pitcher.
“In 2019, Angels hired a former federal prosecutor to conduct an independent investigation to further understand comprehensive the circumstances that led to Tyler’s tragic death. The investigation confirmed that the Organization did not know that Tyler was using opioids, and no one in management was aware or informed that any employee provided opioids to any player. “
Tyler Skaggs’ death was discovered died in his hotel room in Texas on July 1, 2019, after choking on his vomit, the toxicology report revealed that he had ingested oxycodone, fentanyl, and grain alcohol into his system.
