Eleven Spanish tennis players are looking for their ticket to Roland Garros

This Monday, the great clay court event of the tennis calendar, Roland Garros, officially begins. Starting today, 128 male tennis players and 128 female players are looking for one of the 16 places to access the final draw of the tournament that will begin next Sunday.

In this preliminary phase there are a total of eleven Spanish tennis players, five in the men’s team and six in the women’s team, who will try to seal that ticket to be among the 128 players registered in the main tournament draw for each category.

Six of the Spanish tennis players make their debut this Monday in the Roland Garros qualifier. The earliest risers are Nuria Parrizas, which in the first turn of track 9 will be measured against the Romanian Laura Ioana Paar, and Carlos Taberner, who starts as seed number 22 and will face the Slovakian Martin Klizan in the first turn of track 11.

Court 11 will host a large part of the matches of the Spaniards who today debut in the previous round. After Taberner’s game, it will be Bernabé Zapata’s turn, fourteenth seed of the previous one, which will be measured against Frenchman Kyrian Jacquet. At the conclusion of this match, on court 11 he will enter into action the Spanish Eva Guerrero, which will face the French Lois Boisson.

Monday’s Spanish matchday in the preview is completed by two of the Spanish tennis players to follow in the preliminary phase: Tommy Robredo, who at 39 will make his debut in the fourth turn of track 14 against the French Quentin Halys; and Aliona Bolsava, second seed of the women’s preview that will close the day on track 6 against the Austrian Julia Grabher.

For Tuesday will be the debut of the rest of Spaniards in the previous phase where the presence of Carlos Alcaraz, seventh seed, who will make his debut against Lukas Lacko of Slovakia. Mario Vilella will also debut on Tuesday, who will be measured against Austrian Dennis Novak, third seed of the previous one.

On Tuesday the other three Spanish representatives will also enter into action in the preliminary phase. Lara Arruabarrena will face the American Usue Maitane Arconada. For her part, Georgina García Pérez will make her debut against the Japanese Mayo Hibi. And Cristina Bucsa will start her way against the Ukrainian Katarina Zavatska.

In this way Alcaraz, Vilella, Taberner, Zapata and Robredo seek to join a final male team in which The Spaniards Rafa Nadal, Roberto Bautista, Pablo Carreño, Albert Ramos, Alejandro Davidovich, Feliciano López, Pablo Andújar, Jaume Munar, Roberto Carballés, Pedro Martínez and Fernando Verdasco already appear.
