Doncic’s favorite assistant heads to the Magic

Luka Doncic named Jamahl Mosley a few weeks ago as one of his favorite NBA coaches. The technician was then the Rick Carlisle’s main assistant in the Dallas Mavericks, and one of the candidates to replace him on the bench after his departure to the Indiana Pacers.

Mosley, 42, now stands out in the race for the role of head coach of the Orlando Magic, according to information advanced by the ESPN. “He has the things it takes to be a head coach,” Doncic said after a Mavs win in New York in April.

In the end, the Mavericks opted to sign Jason Kidd, and Mosley is now one of the finalists to the Magic bench alongside Wes Unseld Jr, assistant coach and also the main candidate to coach the Washington Wizards, another role Mosley aspires to.

The coaches dance this summer is endless. Mosley has seven years of assistant experience in Dallas, but before that he spent four years in Cleveland (2010-2014) and five years in Denver (2005-2010).
