Alfred Julbe and the Uni Girona have reached an agreement for the Catalan coach to continue leading the team for another year, until June 2022. Julbe arrived in Fontajau last November and in his first season has led the team to the title of Queen’s Cup and to reach the quarterfinals of the Women’s Euroleague for the first time.
Pere Puig, sports director of Spar Girona, stated that “once we have finished agreeing on what we all wanted on how the season should work, we are very happy to ensure Alfred’s continuity. From a sporting point of view, we are very satisfied with the turn the team took, how they played and, above all, the Queen’s Cup. What we asked of him was fulfilled and we hope to continue advancing with it. Now it is time to outline the coaching staff that has to accompany him. We hope that the pieces from last year will continue as well ”.
For his part, Alfred Julbe he was satisfied with its renovation. “I will try to achieve the objective that Pere Puig has been explaining, which would be to adjust the budget while maintaining or improving competitiveness. It has its difficulties but it is a challenge that I set myself ”.
