Aldama had 23 points on the court and finished with 10 points, eight rebounds, four of them offensive, and two assists.

The 21-year-old native of Las Palmas has had a brilliant performance in the preseason and faces his second year in the NBA climbing positions in the balance of his team.

In the four preseason games, Aldama has always exceeded ten points. He scored 13, with eight rebounds, against the milwaukee bucks21, with six rebounds, against the Magic (on October 4), and had eleven points, with six rebounds, against the Miami Heat.

Desmond Bane led the Grizzlies with 33 points, while Ja Morant he contributed 23, although he had a zero of six in triples.

The 21-year-old Aldama had 4.1 points, 2.7 rebounds and 0.7 assists in an average of 11.2 minutes per game in his first season in the NBA.

The forward was part of a very young and captivating Grizzlies that were one of the great sensations of last year in the NBA and that, with the leadership of the explosive Ja Morant, reached the semifinals of the Western Conference, where they lost to the Golden State Warriors.

“Go day by day and improve 1% every day, that’s my plan. I feel very confident to start training and whatever comes after,” Aldama said recently at an NBA media day press conference.

“It’s been a pretty good summer for me. Obviously because of the NBA Summer League (he played this preseason tournament with the Grizzlies) but also because of the work I did behind the scenes,” he added.

Aldama also explained that he has spent much of his time over the summer “getting bigger and stronger to have more of a presence on defense” and also increasing his “consistency” in shooting.
