New York, Apr 30 (EFE) .- The point guard Damian Lillard overcame the fatigue of being on the road and with 32 points, nine assists and seven rebounds, he became the undisputed leader of the Portland Trail Blazers that surprised at home 109-28 to the Brooklyn Nets and remain undefeated on the East Coast.
Lillard scored 22 points in the second half when the Blazers broke up late in the third quarter and ended the Nets’ four-game winning streak.
Bosnian center Jusuf Nurkic confirmed that his performance is on the rise after returning from a broken wrist injury and added a double-double of 23 points and 11 rebounds with the Portland team.
The Trail Blazers (35-28), who are 3-0 on their trip as they try to come out of seventh in the Western Conference and avoid having to appear in the play-in tournament.
The Mavericks (35-27), who had a bye, are sixth in the rankings in the West.
Point guard Kyrie Irving scored 28 points for the Nets, who rested star forward Kevin Durant after he scored 42 points in Thursday night’s road game against the Indiana Pacers.
