At the same time, the competition announced the two-year renewal of its agreement with Canada to host Formula 1 in 2022 and 2023.
Turkey returned to F1 in 2020 after nine years off the calendar and left very good feelings, with a great race in which in addition to Hamilton’s title or Pérez’s victory there was a memorable comeback of Carlos Sainz from 15th place on the grid to 5th place finish, in rainy conditions.
