This is how the winners of the WTA Finals and the WTA ranking remain

Garbiñe Muguruza made history this November 17 in Guadalajara (Mexico). The Spanish won the WTA Finals title for the first time in her sporting career by defeating the Estonian Kontaveit in the grand final of the tournament by a score of 6-3 and 7-5 in 1h and 39 minutes of play. Muguruza succeeds Ashleigh Barty, absent in this edition, who appeared as champion since 2019 (Last year there were no WTA Finals due to the pandemic).

Regarding the ranking, Garbiñe Muguruza will end the season as number 3 in the world rankings, taking a jump of two positions with respect to his position when he began his journey in Guadalajara. His compatriot Paula Badosa will also advance two places when the ranking is updated next Monday, passing from position 10 to 8, for having reached the semifinals.
