We already know the groups of the basketball tournament of the Tokyo Olympics. The eight teams already classified in advance have been joined by four new teams, the winners of the pre-olympic tournaments held this week.
Czech Republic, surprising winner of the tournament held in Canada, will be part of the Group A, facing the United States, France and Iran in their assault on Olympic gold.
Italy obtained another of the tickets awarded this weekend, as did Germany. Both countries will enter the B Group and they will have to fight against Australia and Nigeria if they want to qualify for a medal.
Finally, in the Group C it’s found Spain. Together with Sergio Scariolo’s boys we will see Argentina and Japan, previously classified, and the Slovenia by Luka Doncic who yesterday also sealed his ticket to the Asian country.
These twelve teams will fight for an Olympic gold in a group phase that will overcome the first two and the two best third parties, forming a quarter-final phase in the second week of the tournament.
