The team of the Russian Tennis Federation, consisting of Medvedev, Rublev, Karatsev and Khachanov made history at the Madrid Arena by winning the third Salad Bowl for Russia in the historical record of the Davis Cup. In the qualifying round for the title they demonstrated their superiority over the Croatian team, with the triumphs of Rublev on Gojo and Medvedev on Cilic, to succeed Spain in the list of winners.
