Jerez de la Frontera is a city that, thanks to motorcycling Among many other virtues, it is located on the world map. Hosting each year the Spanish Grand Prix makes it a focus of attraction, something that political authorities have always capitalized on.

The 2020 edition, for reasons already known, was special. The Cádiz track hosted the first two races of the World Championship and given the organizational difficulties, many eyes had been placed on them. Beyond what happened with Marc Márquez (It was here that he suffered the falls that eventually left him out of the championship), both the GP of Spain and the GP of Andalusia in 2020 went perfectly, and that has been officially awarded by the championship.
In the weekend’s prologue, Dorna and the International Federation recognized Jerez’s work in organizing the 2020 events with the award to Best Grand Prix of the year, and the mayor of the city, Mamen Sanchez, was in charge of receiving the trophy and giving a short speech.
