San Salvador, Apr 22 (EFE).- El Salvador’s major soccer league enters this weekend, with the Clausura date 19, in the final stretch to define those classified for the quarterfinals, where they already have a put three teams.
After 22 regular stage dates, the first eight will advance to the next round and will be eliminated in doubleheader rounds until reaching the final, which will be a single match.
In the next stage, Águila, Chalatenango and Alianza already have a separate position, since the difference in points they have with ninth place is higher than the points that are still in dispute.
Águila and Chalatenango are tied for the top spot with 34 points, but the balance is in favor of the Aguiluchos due to their best goalscoring quota, while Alianza is third with 32 integers.
Águila will face downcast Luis Ángel Firpo, eleventh with 16 points, and Chalatenango will visit Jocoro, seventh with 21 units.
For its part, Alianza will collide with Municipal Limeño, owner of ninth place with 18 points and which is the main candidate for relegation.
Nicolás Muñoz, striker for Municipal Limeño, will try in this game to increase his goalscoring record and extend the Central American scoring record he has with 303 goals.
In the sights of the Cucheros is Santa Tecla, which is penultimate in the accumulated table and has an advantage of six points, but the bad moment it is going through puts its permanence in the Salvadoran first division at risk.
Los Periquitos occupy the last position of the current tournament with 14 points and will face Atlético Marte this weekend, tenth with 18 points.
The team that accumulates the fewest points between the Apertura 2021 and Clausura 2022 tournaments will be relegated to the second division.
The Futbolistas Asociados Santanecos (FAS) and Isidro Metapán will play the western derby. These teams add 24 and 27 points in sixth and fourth position, respectively.
The 11 Deportivo, eighth with 20 integers and momentarily owner of the last ticket, will dispute the three points of these dates with Platense, who is fifth with 26 points.
