The 3×3 Circuit of the Catalana is back with its 4th edition

After two successful editions and a third interrupted as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, the Circuit 3×3 FCBQ organized by the Catalan Basketball Federation (FCBQ) returns again with more force presenting a 4th edition with new dates and venues, a new category and the corresponding annual improvements to consolidate 3×3 basketball.

Badalona (June 6), Sant Feliu de Guíxols (June 26), Igualada (July 3), Balaguer (July 11), Torelló (July 17) and Tarragona (July 24) They are the venues for a fourth edition that will close with a Grand Final scheduled for July 31 in Barcelona. As for registrations, they will all open at the same time during the next week.

The Auditorium of the Catalan Federation has been the setting, this Wednesday, May 5 and in blended format, of the official presentation of the 4th edition of the Circuit 3×3 FCBQ . The event was attended by the President of the FCBQ, Ferran Aril; together with those responsible for the project, the manager of the Promotion area, Josep Maria Rofes ; and the former international player and head of the Circuit 3×3 FCBQ, Jaume comas.

In this fourth edition, the city of Sant Feliu de Guíxols is opens as a new headquarters together with Balaguer, within its acts as ‘Ciutat del Bàsquet Català 2020-21’.

Another novelty of the 4th Circuit 3×3 FCBQ, and made possible thanks to the collaboration and involvement of the ACELL Federation and Special Olympics Catalunya, will be the creation of a new category, UNIFIED. In this, the teams will be made up of athletes with intellectual disabilities and their companions; and the composition of the teams will be 3DI / 2Ac or 4DI / 1Ac. Marina Gómez, d’Esports per a Persones amb Discapacitat Intel·lectual-ACELL; Y Sergi grimau , President of Special Olympics Catalunya, were also present during the official act supporting and explaining the great novelty of this year of the Circuit 3×3 FCBQ.

Athletes from 3×3 as Sergi Pino, Georgina Bahí, Nacho Martín, Vega Gimeno, Carlos Martínez, Helena Oma, Xavi Guirao, Ari Geli or Félix López Among many others, they have not missed the presentation but have done so by participating in a virtual way, giving support and confirming their presence at the Circuit 3×3 FCBQ with the promotional video ‘Jo Hi Seré’.

The Circuit 3×3 FCBQ is a new project, open to all and in a phase of continuous growth, promoted four seasons ago by the Catalan Federation with The objective of enhancing, promoting and consolidating 3×3 as a training, educational, playful, competitive and inclusive form of basketball, for all ages.

The first edition, the Circuit It had 10 host cities and a Grand Final, bringing together a total of 895 teams and with the final participation of 3,580 male and female players; while in the second the circuit made a stop in 14 cities with 1,100 teams and 4,600 participants. As for the 3rd edition, the first two Sitges and Banyoles prior to the appearance of the coronavirus that forced the cancellation of the entire rest of the circuit.
