Carmelo Anthony has achieved many things during his NBA career, but last night he reached a milestone that moved him
on costumes during a moderate celebration spoiled by the loss of the Portland Trail Blazers at the hands of the Atlanta Hawks.
Melo, in his 19th season in the NBA, was within the top-10 of the highest scorers in history after adding 14 goals in the match. In the dressing room, the 36-year-old received the match ball as a souvenir of his feat and wanted to take the opportunity to give an emotional speech to his teammates:
“When I came here I was practically out of the league … whatever it was, I insisted and stayed strong. I continued being myself and here I am, in the Top 10, “said the former Nuggets and Knicks player, where he spent his glory years in the league.
In Portland, Melo has found a place as a bench kicker and veteran advisor of a staff that continues to seek to make history with Damian Lillard and company.
With 27,318 points, Carmelo surpassed in the list of top scorers in history to Elvin hayes and it is located less than a hundred of Moses Malone, ninth in a ranking full of legends.
