LaLiga wants an audience in the stadiums in May

The coronavirus is still present, we must not forget it. With more than 110,000 deaths in Spain alone and general immunity far from the 70% target, caution must be exercised. The return of the public to the stadiums could take place already in May, facing the last days of LaLiga.

The mechanism, as well as the attendance figures, are still unknown. Everything indicates that it is a symbolic entry, with a cap of 5,000 attendees. But, of course, it is not the same to put 5,000 followers in Ipurua than in the Camp Nou. We still have to wait for the details, but even the Government could come into play, although perhaps also factors such as the Accumulated Incidence, the performance of tests or even having only amateurs with antibodies. Who knows.

In this sense and according to ‘El Larguero de la Cadena SER’ and ‘El Partidazo de la COPE’, LaLiga would have transferred to the Government the will to reopen the stadiums to fans as of the second week of May and that they would be played like this the last four days of the League with the public in the stands. A proposal that the Government, according to ‘COPE’, would also welcome and have already given the go-ahead.

That is the proposal that would be on the table and that should now be ratified by all parties, also taking into account the position of the clubs. The Government wants the stadiums to be filled again, with a symbolic entrance of some 5,000 fans, in order to help boost the tourist season for these next summer months.
