Doncic does not look for excuses in his annoyances: “I have played terribly”

Los Angeles (USA), May 30 (EFE) .- Luka Doncic, who this Sunday played with obvious neck pain in the loss of the Dallas Mavericks against the Los Angeles Clippers (81-106), did not use his pain to make excuses for their performance.

“I don’t think that matters (the pain) right now. We lost. Injuries are part of basketball (…) and I’ve played terribly,” he said at the press conference after the game with which the Clippers equaled 2- 2 the series.

The Slovenian was the leading scorer for Dallas’ team with 19 points (9 of 24 shooting), but throughout the evening he was seen to suffer from neck discomfort that he began to feel in the third game.

Doncic’s frustration and anger spread to the entire team, who posted a paltry 17% from 3-pointers as part of a meeting to be forgotten on the offensive field.

Doncic said that the pain he feels in his neck also affects a nerve and assured that this morning he was much better than on Saturday.

In this sense, the point guard is confident that with massages and more treatment he can be ready for the fifth game, to be played on Wednesday in Los Angeles (USA).

The Mavericks have wasted the 0-2 they achieved after the first two meetings in the Californian city and now they will travel to Los Angeles after losing two consecutive games at home and without the home court factor in their power.

On the other side, the Clippers enjoyed an almost perfect night in the shelter of their two stars: Kawhi Leonard (29 points and 10 rebounds) and Paul George (20 points and 9 rebounds).

The physical and sweaty basketball with a low and aggressive quintet in defense of the outside shot returned to work for the Clippers, who repeated the recipe that gave them victory in the third game and who bet on Nicolas Batum from the start instead of Ivica Zubac .

Serge Ibaka missed his second match followed by back problems.
