PFor the second consecutive season, the National League Championship Series is contested by the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Atlanta Braves. One year after epic 2020 series, in the Arlington bubble in which LA rallied a 1-3 hole to access the World Series, faces are again seen fighting for the ticket to the Fall Classic.
Atlanta arrived with a little more slack in this instance, after eliminate the Milwaukee Brewers in four games, despite not having the home, but his pitching handcuffed the rival attack to take them back to the Championship Series, looking for their First ticket to the World Series since 1999.
The Dodgers, who had the second-best record in all of Major League baseball, had to contend with California’s best and rival, the Giants. They faced elimination twice and survived, winning Game 5 in San Francisco to qualify.
In the regular season, the Dodgers and Braves had two series, six games in total. The first, at the beginning of June in Atlanta, was won by the Braves 2-1, while the second at the end of September was swept by the Dodgers, leaving the individual duel 4-2 for the Californians.
The series starts saturday night, at Truist Park in Atlanta, despite Atlanta winning 18 games less than Los Angeles (88-73 vs. 106-56).
Like the Dodgers were the wild card team, MLB rules prevent them from having a home advantage in the Championship Series.
Curiously, if they go to the World Series, they could have the most games at Dodger Stadium since there the rule is the best record, regardless of how it was scored.
