Celta ensures permanence

A genius of Blades to culminate a counterattack opened the victory of the Celtic in Balaídos before him Osasuna (2-1), a triumph that, despite Navarrese dominance during the second half, seals the permanence of the celestial group in the Santander League.

Eduardo Coudet hardly touched up his usual starting team: he only presented the news of Aidoo and Fontán in defense; Jagoba Arrasate changed almost the entire team that had beaten Valencia, a revolution with nine changes, a new team except Sergio Herrera and Oier.

Celta suffered a setback as soon as the game started with a Hugo Mallo muscle injury. He was replaced by Kevin, who with a distant volley broke the quiet of the game after a quarter of an hour, rare on dangerous occasions. Celta exercised a fragile dominance. He had the ball and the best opportunities, but he lacked forcefulness, more conviction in your idea.

His weapon was the counterattack. The first warning came in the twenty-seventh minute with a recovery of the ball in their own field, a long pass from Tapia and a cross shot from Santi Mina that ended up on the post. More lethal was the second against: a throw-in by Osasuna near the celestial area ended seconds later with a genius from Aspas to close the first half. The sequence of the goal was a counterattack mounted by Nolito, Denis Suárez and Santi Mina that finally Aspas crowned Roncaglia with a dribble and a precise shot.

Jagobo Arrasate put Manu Sánchez, Jony and Roberto Torres at halftime. His team opened the second half with more rhythm, more offensive drive that was specified with a clear opportunity from Brasanac at five minutes, a shot from inside the area that forced a great stretch to Iván Villar.

Osasuna advanced his lines. That left Celta with more room to counterattack. And he did: Nolito finished off with a goal a quick counterattack but the referee canceled the action for offside, an incorrect position certified by the VAR.

For fifteen minutes, Osasuna harassed the celestial team, mainly with centers from the bands that disturbed Iván Villar. Budimir touched the goal several times, after a cross from the right by Ramalho and another by Manu Sánchez from the left. With Celta unstitched, Coudet reinforced the midfield with Beltrán and Solari, although Navarrese dominance was fractured with a set piece action by the Galician team, a corner taken by Denis Suárez and Murillo nodded imperially.

That second Celta goal did not dampen Osasuna’s plan, who insisted on seeking danger from their bands. Moncayola wasted a volley from inside the area. The visiting award came curiously in an apparently low-risk set: when defending a ball in his area, Aspas jumped with his arm outstretched and hit Roberto Torres in the face. The referee Soto Grado reviewed the jump with the VAR images and signaled a penalty. Roberto Torres scored.

Osasuna looked for a tie but lacked success, despite a shot from Moncayola or a center from Manu Sánchez, threats that did not prevent Celta from winning.
