112-131. Pacers take win on sad day for rookie Cannady

Sports writing (USA), Apr 26 (EFE) .- The point guard Malcolm Brogdon, who scored 24 points, was the leader of the Indiana Pacers who defeated Orlando at home (112-131), in a game marred by the gruesome right ankle injury of Magic rookie guard Devin Cannady.

Cannady suffered an open fracture to his right ankle in the first quarter when he fell to the ground after trying to contest Edmond Sumner’s layup.

The Pacers already had a substantial advantage (20-41) in the third quarter that was decisive in achieving their third consecutive victory.

Sumner added 21 points for Indiana, forward Justin Holiday had six 3s and 20 points, and guard Caris LeVert had 18 points and six assists.

The Pacers also had 55 percent shooting from the field and made 15 3-pointers.

Guard Dwayne Bacon led Orlando with 20 points and center Wendell Carter Jr. added a double-double of 10 points and 13 rebounds.
